I love the performing arts, today as a patron but for many years as a performer. Needless to say I was thrilled when my 13-year old daughter showed an interest in theater. Although I grew up in an era where Theater Arts was part of my school curriculum today classes in the performing arts are almost impossible to find.
Premier Musical Theater fills that void in a wonderful way.
My teenager now has three PMT productions under her belt and with each show her confidence and love of the boards grows. But PMT is more than just a place where they “put on a show.” The producer, director, choreographer, voice coach and the rest of the PMT staff are professionals in the arts who are wonderfully dedicated to both teach the craft while at the same time get the most out of each performer no matter the age.
Here’s the best part; my 10-year old son was home when some of the kids came over to read lines. Timmy was talked into reading the parts of performers who weren’t there. He did so well and had so much fun he’s joining his sister in the next production.
I’m still amazed at how once-a-week rehearsals can produce such terrific productions so the time commitment on my part is very manageable.
If you have a young person you want to introduce to theater I highly recommend Premier Musical Theater.
PS: Each production my daughter was in had an adult or two in the show who also wanted to give theater a try. PMT is a great place to test your wings.
My granddaughters enjoyed participating in this excellent program this summer– and I got to see energetic and fun-filled performances of FAME and PETER PAN. My 6- year old granddaughter pleaded for two more weeks, so I am looking forward to this week’s production of NEWSIES and to the following week’s MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE. And she is asking to be part of the fall production of ANNIE. I liked the organization of the theater company. The days were structured so the actors learned movement, dance, script, and songs– all in one week– from enthusiastic and talented staff members. On the day of the performance, we were given keepsake photos of the week’s group. It is thrilling to have a local theater company with so much going for them! I love this quotation and think it applies here: THEATER ANYWHERE IS GOOD FOR THEATER EVERYWHERE!
I love love LOVE this program. I purchased a deal through Groupon and will never look for another musical theater introduction program. This is was my very first show and I had a blast. I was in their first production Seussical Jr. and will be coming back next year for two or even all three of their productions.
Sara, Lewis, Michelle and the rest of the crew and cast are absolutely amazing! I can’t wait to see their current production Annie Jr in December 2013!
Our daughter has done two productions with Premier (Seussical Jr. and Annie Jr.) and loved them both. She’s now part of their current production of High School Musical, and is looking forward to rehearsals every Saturday. The teachers and principals of Premier are young and energetic, and care very much for all the kids. After trying other musical theatre companies for kids, we are very happy to have found Premier, and hope to part of many more productions, and see the company grow in the coming months and years.
Terrific staff, great program, and a very good value as well. Our five year old daughter had a great time and learned a lot. She will be going back again. I would recommend this program to anyone.
OK guys, this group is amazing. I came to PMT as a complete outsider with a special needs child and I am so impressed by the professionalism and warmth and willingness to accommodate special needs. We feel very lucky to have found PMT.
Premier Musical Theatre is an outstanding program. The instructors are incredible and really know what they’re talking about. I feel so much more prepared and confident as an actress after doing just one show with them. I loved it so much that I’m now doing another one. The environment is so supportive, and fun, too! I highly recommend Premier.
